This event has been canceled.

Join Washington Crossing Historic Park curator Kimberly McCarty for a free gallery tour of the Visitor Center exhibit, Soldier Health in Revolutionary Pennsylvania.
The exhibit illustrates the greatest danger that soldiers faced during the Revolutionary War: disease. In the 18th century, very little was known about preventing the spread of bacteria and infection, which allowed diseases such as scabies, dysentery, small pox, typhus and yellow fever to plague the troops. In fact, 6,000 of the 17,000 soldiers in Pennsylvania in August 1776 were ill.
In the exhibit, visitors can step into a sick room that recreates the spaces that soldiers recuperated in during the Continental Army’s 1776 encampment at the Thompson-Neely House.
