The book examines the experiences of the estimated 30\,000 German soldiers – collectively known as Hessians – that participated in the war on the British side. \nIn 2002\, Dr. Baer received a Ph.D. in early American history from Brown University. She served as a project archivist at the American Philosophical Society. Since 2010\, she has been on the faculty of Penn State Abington College as an Associate Professor of History and Division Head for Arts and Humanities. \nCopies of the book will be available for signing.
