SUMMARY:Battlefield Tour June 9\, 2024
DESCRIPTION:Spend a Sunday afternoon at the Princeton Battlefield State Park and learn more about the Battle of Princeton\, a battle that ended the “ten crucial days” of 1776-1777. Walk in the footprints of Washington’s troops and listen to exciting narratives of soldier and civilian experiences. Your tour is led by an approved Historical Interpreter. \nFollowing the approximate one hour tour\, visit the historic Thomas Clarke House\, the home of a Quaker farming family and the only remaining structure from the January 3\, 1777 Battle of Princeton. \nTours start promptly at 1 pm on Sundays. Pre-registration is required. \nRegister Below\nvar gform;gform||(document.addEventListener(“gform_main_scripts_loaded”\,function(){gform.scriptsLoaded=!0})\,window.addEventListener(“DOMContentLoaded”\,function(){gform.domLoaded=!0})\,gform={domLoaded:!1\,scriptsLoaded:!1\,initializeOnLoaded:function(o){gform.domLoaded&&gform.scriptsLoaded?o():!gform.domLoaded&&gform.scriptsLoaded?window.addEventListener(“DOMContentLoaded”\,o):document.addEventListener(“gform_main_scripts_loaded”\,o)}\,hooks:{action:{}\,filter:{}}\,addAction:function(o\,n\,r\,t){gform.addHook(“action”\,o\,n\,r\,t)}\,addFilter:function(o\,n\,r\,t){gform.addHook(“filter”\,o\,n\,r\,t)}\,doAction:function(o){gform.doHook(“action”\,o\,arguments)}\,applyFilters:function(o){return gform.doHook(“filter”\,o\,arguments)}\,removeAction:function(o\,n){gform.removeHook(“action”\,o\,n)}\,removeFilter:function(o\,n\,r){gform.removeHook(“filter”\,o\,n\,r)}\,addHook:function(o\,n\,r\,t\,i){null==gform.hooks[o][n]&&(gform.hooks[o][n]=[]);var e=gform.hooks[o][n];null==i&&(i=n+”_”+e.length)\,gform.hooks[o][n].push({tag:i\,callable:r\,priority:t=null==t?10:t})}\,doHook:function(n\,o\,r){var t;if(r=Array.prototype.slice.call(r\,1)\,null!=gform.hooks[n][o]&&((o=gform.hooks[n][o]).sort(function(o\,n){return o.priority-n.priority})\,o.forEach(function(o){“function”!=typeof(t=o.callable)&&(t=window[t])\,”action”==n?t.apply(null\,r):r[0]=t.apply(null\,r)}))\,”filter”==n)return r[0]}\,removeHook:function(o\,n\,t\,i){var r;null!=gform.hooks[o][n]&&(r=(r=gform.hooks[o][n]).filter(function(o\,n\,r){return!!(null!=i&&i!=o.tag||null!=t&&t!=o.priority)})\,gform.hooks[o][n]=r)}}); \n\n\nSignup form for Battlefield tours in 2024 \n"*" indicates required fields \n \n\n\n\nName for all Tickets*\n\n                             \n                                                    First\n                                                 \n                             \n                                                    Last\n                                                 \n\nEmail* \n\n\n\nMailing Address*\n\n                          \n                                        Street Address\n                                     \n                                        Address Line 2\n                                     \n                                    City\n                                 \n                                        AlabamaAlaskaAmerican SamoaArizonaArkansasCaliforniaColoradoConnecticutDelawareDistrict of ColumbiaFloridaGeorgiaGuamHawaiiIdahoIllinoisIndianaIowaKansasKentuckyLouisianaMaineMarylandMassachusettsMichiganMinnesotaMississippiMissouriMontanaNebraskaNevadaNew HampshireNew JerseyNew MexicoNew YorkNorth CarolinaNorth DakotaNorthern Mariana IslandsOhioOklahomaOregonPennsylvaniaPuerto RicoRhode IslandSouth CarolinaSouth DakotaTennesseeTexasUtahU.S. Virgin IslandsVermontVirginiaWashingtonWest VirginiaWisconsinWyomingArmed Forces AmericasArmed Forces EuropeArmed Forces Pacific\n                                        State\n                                       \n                                    ZIP Code\n                                 \n\n \n\n\nConfirm the tour date you wish to attend:*\n\n\n\n					May 19\, 2024\n			\n\n					June 9\, 2024\n			\n\n					June 23\, 2024\n			\n\n					July 14\, 2024\n			\n\n					July 28\, 2024\n			\n\n					August 11\, 2024\n			\n\n					August 25\, 2024\n			\n\n					September 8\, 2024\n			\n\n					September 22\, 2024\n			\n\n					October 6\, 2024\n			\n\n					October 20\, 2024\n			\n\n\n\n\nHow did you hear about the Battlefield Tours?*\n\n\n\n					Social Media\n			\n\n					Other Organizations\n			\n\n					Mercer Road Sign\n			\n\n					Newspapers\n			\n\n					PBS Promotions\n			\n\n					Other\n			\n\n\n\nAdults Quantity \n\n\n						Price:\n						$5.00\n					\n					 Quantity\n				\n\nChildren (15 & under) Quantity \n\n\n						Price:\n						$0.00\n					\n					 Quantity\n				\n\nVeterans Quantity \n\n\n						Price:\n						$0.00\n					\n					 Quantity\n				\n\n\nAre you interested in receiving information about upcoming events from Princeton Battlefield Society via email?*\n\n\n\n								Yes use the email above\n							\n\n								Yes but send to a different email\n							\n\n								No thank you\n							\n\n\n\nSend information to this email \n\n\nTotal \n\nOnce you click submit you will be taken to Paypal. SUMMARY:Fundraising Lecture – Jack D. Warren Jr. – “Freedom: The Enduring Importance of the Revolution”
DESCRIPTION:This event is in-person only at the Visitor Center Auditorium. Registration required. \nJoin us for a 1 hour lecture on Jack D. Warren Jr.’s new book on the American Revolution. \nPublished under the auspices of the American Revolution Institute of the Society of the Cincinnati\, Freedom: The Enduring Importance of the American Revolution is a narrative history of the War for Independence. It tells the pivotal story of the courageous men and women who risked their lives to create a new nation based on the idea that government should serve people and protect their freedom. Written for Americans intent on understanding our national origins but also appropriate for teachers and secondary classrooms\, Freedom argues that the American Revolution is the central event in our history: the turning point between our colonial origins and our national experience. This volume includes 167 full-color paintings\, maps\, illustrations\, and photos—many seen only in historical institutions nationwide! \nThe narrative in FREEDOM spans from the American Revolution’s origins in the nature of colonial British America—a society in which freedom was limited and in which everyone was the subject of a distant monarch—through the crisis in the British Empire that followed the French and Indian War\, to the events of the War for Independence itself\, and ultimately to the creation of the first great republic in modern history. Ours is a shared\, inspiring story of how Americans\, united in their fight for freedom\, became one nation with a shared history and national identity. It is a testament to the power of unity and shared values. It is the story of a generation of founders who expressed ideals of liberty\, equality\, natural and civil rights\, and responsible citizenship: ideals that have shaped our history and will shape our future—and the world’s future. \nAbout the Author \nJack D. Warren\, Jr.\, is a native of Washington\, DC\, whose work focuses on the enduring achievements of the American Revolution. He served on the faculty of the University of Virginia\, where he was an editor of The Papers of George Washington. Subsequently\, he was the executive director of The Society of Cincinnati and the founding director of The American Revolution Institute. His books include The Presidency of George Washington and America’s First Veterans. He and his wife\, Janet\, live in Alexandria\, Virginia. \nThis event will be a 1 hour lecture by author Jack D. Warren Jr\, discussing the book\, his research\, as well as an opportunity for questions and book signing. \nProceeds will support the Friends of Washington Crossing Park and the Princeton Regional Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution Education Fund. \nTickets can be purchased both with or without a book. The book will also be available for sale in the Visitor Center gift shop\, if supplies allow.
