SUMMARY:Living History Theatre: Border Dispute
DESCRIPTION:The border between Pennsylvania and Maryland was not clearly designated until well into the 1700s. Through William Penn’s proprietorship\, he clashed with Maryland proprietor Lord Baltimore over the border. For people living in the areas under dispute\, the conflict impacted their safety\, economy\, and ways they practiced their faith. \nThis program is provided free of charge with admission to Pennsbury Manor\, which includes a tour of the Manor House and other historic buildings. Tours are offered at 12:30\, 1:30\, 2:30\, and 3:30 pm.

SUMMARY:Lecture – Eighteenth Century France and the American Experience
DESCRIPTION:This event is online-only! Visitors may attend virtually on Zoom.  Registration is required.  Log-in information provided at registration. \nIn recognition of the Marquis de Lafayette’s 1824 tour of America James Taub\, Associate Curator at the Museum of the American Revolution\, will examine how French service in the colonies  influenced the future of the empire. \nWe often talk of the French Military during the American Revolutionary War through the lens of Rochambeau and his troops. However\, the service of his ‘Expédition particulière’ was a drop in the bucket of the experience of French arms during the years following the Seven Years War. By following personalities such as Rochambeau\, Broglie\, Montcalm\, Bougainville\, and Lafayette\, we can discover how the French military had their own revolution from the 1760s to 1780s\, and how the groundwork of the successes of the French Revolution and First Empire were laid by men who witnessed war in America. \nRegister here.
