DESCRIPTION:This workshop is outside under a cozy roofed pavilion with picnic tables & a fire in a wood stove for warmth. Restrooms are available. Dress warm in layers. This is a 90 minute lecture & demonstration with audience participation to learn about the different types of equipment\, what to look for in selecting your first pair\, how to dress\, basic skills\, your 1st day on skis/snowshoes\, and where to go. If snow covered\, an additional 1+ hour outdoor ski lesson will be offered. If not\, trail maps are available for personal hiking on 2 miles of park trails. \nParticipants must provide their own ski equipment.
