The desperate condition of the soldiers who crossed the Delaware River on December 25, 1776 has become as legendary as the crossing itself. Less well-known are the conditions under which these soldiers lived in the weeks preceding the crossing.

On Sunday, December 3 at 7 PM, Park Military Historian Colin Zimmerman will examine the reality of the difficult and complex encampments and how they impacted what would prove to be a decisive military stroke in the American War for Independence.

The talk will be held in-person at the Visitor Center and will also be livestreamed. The event is free to attend but registration is required to attend in person and receive the Zoom link. Indicate if you will attend in-person or virtually. Click here to register.
