Beginning at McKonkey’s Ferry Tavern on the PA side of the river, we will walk across Washington’s Crossing Bridge to the NJ side. We will proceed north on River Drive to the location of the upper ferry landing, then down to the lower ferry landing, describing the 1776 ferry service and how it was used for the Crossing of Dec. 25-26, 1776. We will visit the ferry boat reproduction and describe how ferries function, then end the tour at the Nelson House where a fire will be crackling in the large hearth. Hot cider for all! Free.
