July: Hessian Occupation

Meet some of the most fascinating and misunderstood soldiers of the American Revolution: Hessians. Reenactors will offer a glimpse into their experiences here in America and how they factored into Washington’s crossing of the Delaware!

Location:  Historic Village, 1112 River Road, Washington Crossing, PA 18977

Time:  Saturday July 11th 2026, 11am – 3pm

This free event is part of our Monthly Living History Series. From April through October 2026, Washington Crossing Historic Park hosts Soldier Saturdays & Farmstead Fridays. Presented in partnership with Americana Corner, these free monthly programs explore military and civilian life during the American Revolution.

Farmstead Fridays – Thompson-Neely Farmstead

Location: 1638 River Road, New Hope, PA 18938
Explore civilian life during the Revolution with hands-on demonstrations. Programs take place on the 4th Friday of each month.

  • September 25: Tending the Flock
  • October 23: Preparing for Winter

Garden Tours
Step into the sights, scents, and stories of an 18th-century kitchen garden on these guided tours, held at the Hibbs Garden, the same day as Farmstead Fridays, at 12:30pm (registration required)


Soldier Saturdays – Lower Park Village

Location: 1112 River Road, Washington Crossing, PA 18977
Learn about military life during the Revolution with monthly themed programs, held on the 2nd Saturday of each month.

  • August 8: Artillery
  • September 12: Camp Followers
  • October 10: Civilians in the War Effort
