Screen Shot 2018-05-20 at 4.32.23 PM

Join us at the State Park’s Sullivan Grove Pavilion, near the Visitors Center Museum, where local historians and reenactors will staff a series of tables that feature images and objects highlighting various topics. Members of the First Rhode Island Regiment and the WCPA will discuss such matters as:

  • Black soldiers during the Revolution
  • The integrated seafaring unit known as the Marbleheaders
  • Smallpox inoculation and treatment in the 1700s
  • Ferry boat operations on the Delaware River
  • and more!

On July 28th we will be looking towards the future as well, with a NJ State Park Service table that features details about the Park’s once-in-a-generation restoration project, which will include millions of dollars worth of capital improvements such a new roads, updated signage, restored buildings, and of course its $14 million new Visitors Museum. View drawings and a model of this beautiful new state-of-the-art structure and examine details of its exciting features, including the Swan Collection of Revolutionary War artifacts, the George Harding mural, and the restoration of its nearby George Washington Memorial Arboretum.

At 3pm, join us for a brief kickoff ceremony at the site of the new museum, with refreshments!
